Dpss differential response program: differential response, funded by the county of riverside, department of public social services, is an evidence based in-home parent training program for families with unsubstantiated children's services division referrals. Differential response consists of four in-home sessions and four positive influence choice classes. The goal of the program is to prevent entry and/or re-entry into the formal child welfare system.
Safecare program: the safecare program is funded by first 5 riverside and is an evidence- based parent training program for parents with children 0 to 5 years of age and who are at rusk and/or have been reported for child maltreatment. Through safecare, trained professionals work with at-risk families in their home environment to improve parents skills in home safety, child health and parent/infant, parent/child interactions.
The ophelia project: the ophelia project is a comprehensive five-year team-mentoring program, dedicated to empowering disadvantaged students to become independent, self-sufficient, members of our community. Ophelia project serves teen girls in 8th through 12th grade who may be at risk of becoming high school drop-outs, as determined by their school counselors. The program provides enrichment curriculum designed to increase gpa and graduation rates, improve academic achievement, encourage college preparation and career readiness, and provides scholarships for higher education. The program is delivered by volunteer professional women mentors trained and certified in the ophelia project model. Ophelia project operates 19 programs in 18 schools across all 3 coachella valley school districts. Lesson plans are designed to strengthen girls emotional intelligence with session topics focusing on social emotional health.
Reach out and read reach out and read is an evidence-based program in collaboration with dr. ramos, promoting early literacy and school readiness by giving new, age- appropriate books to young children, and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud to their child.
