Education: Five newsletters (14,000 quarterly) including 7.450 in electronic format with a 40% open rate; 9 ZOOM meetings (including 115 participants from U.S. states and Europe) with power point presentations; regional / national / international ZOOM meetings with 320 attendees; four delegations including 28 people; promoting training and ownership of program by those served; U.S. / Nicaragua health trainings particularly in asthma, diabetes, sexual health, family planning, HIV, and infant care (36 trainings with 748 served); Other trainings converted to one-on-one or small groups during COVID - community mental health trainings; continued a New mothers' support group; maintained four support groups for at-risk young women and men with 80 participants, and the LBGT community; presentation of cooperative and organic development via monthly ZOOM meetings; developed social media educational presentations; hosted 90 cultural and educational events utilizing Casa Ben Linder with 1,124 participants.
Reconciliation & Advocacy Work: Hospitality (daily); transport to medical facilities (monthly); provision of three remote rural medical clinics and one week of rural veterinary service; neighborhood resources community development (daily via WhatsApp & Instagram); liaison between U.S. donors and Nicaraguan recipients via ZOOM; family, developmental, and domestic violence counseling (1,731 participants); participation in fair trade networks and in developing new contacts; microenterprise loans and projects (as needed); in-home outreach service with home delivery of medicines; provision of 48 wheelchairs and crutches for home use. Provision of PPE for all staff and maintenance of all spaces for COVID protection. Climate advocacy - installation of solar panels in two central locations lowering the electric bill by 20%.
Development Ministries - Sustainable Agriculture: 13 grower groups in COPROEXNIC representing 3,000 small farmers; development of cooperatives with continued monthly national trainings in business management, weekly ZOOM connections with international resources people; participation in international production chain partnerships including direct subscription expansion through Farmer Shares, LLC (50 subscribers monthly); and continuation of office and processing plant capabilities with 42 workers seasonally and a manager; access to revolving loan fund and organic credit; participating in rural infrastructure improvements including 36 aquaponics systems; organic sesame ($656,364 worth), organic peanuts ($484,000 worth), and organic coffee. Development Ministries - Health: Daily medical clinic provision for 12,826 patient visits: family care, pediatric, ob/gyn services, and periodic medical specialists providing 262 EKG tests, 375 PAPs, birth control for 595 people, expansion of dental procedures for 3983 patients including 64% preventive care; chronic patient care (135); medical lab tests (1,423); international volunteer participation. 96 Weekend / Night-emergency nebulization treatments as part of 566 provisions of first aid in health promoter homes.
