Jfsa raised nearly 500,000 in essential funds allocated to partner agencies to provide food, security, welfare services, and temporary housing in ukraine and other countries who welcomed ukrainians fleeing their homeland. Jfsa raised nearly 300,000 to support the refugee resettlement program in Southern Arizona. Hundreds of refugees in pima county received meals, housing, healthcare, clothing, and essential services from partner agencies funded by jfsa. 40,732 meals were donated as part of project isaiah, the annual high holiday food drive benefiting the community food bank of Southern Arizona. This represents an increase of 60% from 2021. Older adults in the greater tucson area received transportation assistance funded by jfsa. More than 1,000 trips to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and Jewish services and programming were provided free of charge. Community grants totaling 166,350 were awarded to local organizations and synagogues to support community connection and engagement. Examples include funding for monthly education sessions addressing issues of concern to aging adults, an antisemitism initiative including a curated Jewish museum exhibit and curriculum for school children, and a volunteer project to provide goods and services to low income, isolated older adults on a monthly basis.
