Program areas at Jewish Community Center of the East Bay
After School Program: The JCC of the East Bay offers after-school child-care programs for elementary-school age children that build skills in creative arts and crafts, cooking, drama, music and dance in a safe, enriching environment. Supportive staff provide homework help and supervision of free play. In the past the JCC of the East Bay served over 500 children each year in four locations to support the needs of working families. As the JCC's enrollments recovered from COVID, our enrollments at Cleveland Elementary, Joaquin Miller Elementary and in Berkeley bounced back to 315 students served.
Cultural Programs: The JCC of the East Bay provides year-round cultural programming for all ages. As we recover from the Covid-19 pandemic we have started to resume some in-person events that blend with on-line events/programs, including lectures, discussions, performances, workshops and holiday celebrations.
Early Childhood Education: The JCC of the East Bay provides high quality pre-school services for children from 2 to 5 years old. We offer part-day or full-day programs to serve the needs of working families. The JCC Preschool is a developmental program incorporating music, art, movement and the celebration of Jewish heritage and culture. In previous year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic we were only able to enroll about 35 children during this school year due to social distancing regulations but our enrollment slightly increased to 45.
