James V Brown Library provides free public library services for the needs of Lycoming County residents. The library maintains and improves the quality of life for all citizens of their community by providing resources that enhance and contribute to individual knowledge, enlightenment, and enjoyment. Additionally, they are open to the public 45 hours each week and serve a total of 125,176 visitors annually. With access to its collection of 134,179 items including in-house and out-of-house materials, it is a valuable resource.

Program areas at James V Brown Library

The Library was open to the public 45 hours each week and was the place to go for 141,832 citizens who visited our Library in person and 78,774 who visited us online. The Library provided access to 253,605 items in its collection, including in-house and outreach collections, for use by the public at no charge. These items were borrowed 392,666 times. The Library's public internet access computers and public wi-fi was used 33,096 times; the online database was accessed 53,367 times.the Library offered 805 in person adult and children's programs in which 13,842 citizens attended. The Library offered 30 virtual programs that reached 6 people.continued on schedule o.as the north central Library district center, the James V. Brown Library provided resources and equipment for the 40 public libraries that it serves in the district.
