Program areas at Mesquite Arts Council

Arts Council Programming. Fully supported by the Arts Council and grant from Texas Commission on the Arts are: a series of free outdoor concerts including April Rocks during the month of April and Jazz Breaks in the month of June, Day of the Dead Festival, Harvest Festival Barn Dance, Summer Courtyard Concert Series, multiple classical concerts, and twelve months of art exhibits from local and regional artists. Endowment funded activities by the Arts Council include arts youth camps such as the Missoula Childrens Theatre which is held each summer. Also, Just for Kids is a series of free, interactive performances that introduce children to the performing and visual arts, and a YouTube channel with educational videos produced by the Mesquite Arts Council. Dedicated Endowment Programming and Support of Mesquite Freedom Park. Mesquite Freedom Park, located next to the Arts Center, is a place in Mesquite to celebrate the freedoms of art, music, education and assembly. Local Support of Arts Organizations. Organizational support from the Mesquite Arts Council partially funds the Mesquite Community Band, Mesquite Symphony Orchestra, Mesquite Community Theatre, Texas Winds Musical Outreach and micro grants for regional artists. The MAC is proud to give a home to several additional arts organizations: Texas Area Artists, Mesquite Community Band, Mesquite Community Theatre, and Mesquite Symphony Orchestra.
