The ECC provides high quality services to individuals with an autism diagnosis using evidence-based practices to target individual needs in the areas of communication, preschool readiness, self-care and play skills.
Outreach provides recreational and educational programs for individuals with Autism, ADHD, Executive Function disorders, and other developmental disabilities in the Washington, DC area. Services are provided at the Ivymount campus afterschool and weekends. The mission is to bring the excellence of the Ivymount School to the community; most programs have been developed or piloted at Ivymount School. Parent education groups are also provided to supplement many of the educational groups.
Outreach supports individuals and their families in home and community settings. Services are initiated upon a referral from a parent or professional and are individualized to meet the needs of each individual and family. Outreach provides evidence-based practices in the fields of speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, academic tutoring, and applied behavior analysis. Services include assessment, treatment, recommendations, and ongoing consultation.
Outreach offers a variety of trainings and individualized consultation services to organizations, agencies, schools and professionals using evidence-based practices. All services are individualized based on the needs of our clients while capitalizing on the expertise of Ivymount Staff. Services are provided at the Ivymount Campus or at the clients location.
The overall goal of this department is dissemination of curricula, tools, expertise and research developed within the Ivymount School and The Maddux School. Outreach also hosts the Ivymount Marketplace, which is an online store currently selling products created by students (e.g. dog biscuits, soap). The purpose of the Ivymount Marketplace is to provide students with an opportunity to learn small business skills, express themselves creatively, and expose them to a work-like environment and responsibilities.
