If codeif code is a skill-building program offered by If Charities. If code is a free program created and designed to give at-risk youth an introduction into the world of technology. Through the program, students gain insight and an education of marketable skills for the rapidly growing technology industry that is on track to have 1.4 million new jobs by 2020. After completing introductory classes in coding, software and hardware development, web development and more, students who have the aspiration and aptitude can move on to receive more in-depth training. Ultimately, these sought-after skills will provide strong opportunities for future success as well as build better communities as a whole.
Shop with a copteam If hosts youth from community organizations serving homeless or at-risk youth to participate in a day of bowling, pizza and a shopping spree with chicago police officers from their neighborhood. Youth are given a gift card to purchase gifts for their family and themselves and are paired with an officer who promotes dialogue on social and emotional skills.
Youth leadersteam If offers a unique and valuable experience to students who have excelled in the If after school program during the school year. The program is a summer internship providing six weeks of workforce development and career exploration.
Allstar football and cheerleading campannual free football and cheerleading camp for children ages 8 to 14 from under served communities in both chicago and winnipeg. Team iif uses the platform of sports to encourage children to learn goal setting, decision making, goal achievement, sportsmanship, teamwork and other valuable social and emotional life skills.
