Program areas at International Tax and Investment Center
Africa projects - itic began its work in africa in 2000 with a series of indirect Tax studies and in-country workshops in kenya and ghana. The africa Tax dialogue, which itic founded in 2010, focuses on Tax coordination within regional economic communities (recs) in africa. It brings together the secretariats from the east african community (eac), southern african development community (sadc), west african economic and monetary union (uemoa), and economic community of west african states (ecowas) to discuss their own Tax coordination as well as the best practices of others. Itic also convenes issue- and country-specific workshops with finance and revenue officials across the continent.
Eurasia projects - itic's eurasia program dates back to the organization's founding in 1993. It includes the eurasia Tax forum, which brings together senior officials from ministries of finance and Tax administrations from the eurasia region with International experts, academia, industry experts and multilateral organizations. Itic has also conducted a number of country-level studies over the years in uzbekistan, kazakhstan, russia, and ukraine. Itic has engaged in a mining taxation study in kazakhstan, which analyzes current practices, australian experience and International best practices.
Asia-pacific projects - itic co-founded the asia-pacific Tax forum (aptf) in 2005. Itic's work in the asia-pacific region has evolved into a program of continuous engagement among public-sector and private-sector stakeholders, as well as academic experts. Itic has produced an extensive series of publications covering topical Tax issues in the region, such as the asean excise Tax reform: a resource manual, which has been translated into three languages.
