Annual convention and trade show:the annual convention and trade show includes Association and industry business meetings, training seminars, and an opportunity to view and inspect the latest in consumer products, accessories, and Service aids; members meet with high level manufacturer personnel to discuss unique problems experienced in servicing products or the procurement of repair parts and Service literature. Due to the covidpandic a convention was not held in 2021.
Publications:an industry oriented magazine is published by the Association's for-profit subsidiary, nesda professional Service, inc. (npsi), and distributed to members on a bi-monthly basis; a portion of each members' dues are designated as a subscription fee which is paid to npsi for each subscription; the subscription fee also includes a yearbook published annually containing information about Association programs, Association officers/directors, divisions and associated organizations, manufacturer personnel, warranty companies, and parts distributors; members also receive newsletters and other information on Association programs periodically throughout the year; the Association also provides industry alerts, legislative alerts, information on industry trends, and a code of ethical standards.
Training, licensing, testing, and certification of electronics Service dealers:in addition to the training provided during the annual convention, regional seminars are also sponsored periodically throughout the year; the Association offers certification programs in various technical fields of electronics, appliance, and management so that technicians and managers may demonstrate and publicize their knowledge, skills, and abilities as a method of gaining recognition from consumers and their employer; the Association makes available and keeps current study material and testing opportunities for those who desire to reach this level of competence; the Association is also authorized by the fcc to administer the radio/telephone licensing exam.
