Annual conference: isee holds an annual conference each year in north america orother countries to provide access for the International membership. The societyentertains proposals periodically from members to organize and host the annualconference. The winning proposals are selected by peer review and the societyprovides oversight to the organizers/hosts during the planning period. The annualconference brings together scientists throughout the world to exchange ideas andmethods for research in Environmental health and Epidemiology. It provides a forumfor communication, current epidemiologic research, facilities, internationalcollaboration in research and training, and highlights emerging global environmentalhealth issues.the conference program each year includes presentation of awards recognizing bothexperienced Environmental epidemiologists who have made significant contributions tothe knowledge and practice of Environmental Epidemiology and promising newresearchers in Environmental Epidemiology. These awards are beneficial to the fieldof Environmental Epidemiology because they recognize excellence in scientificpractice in the field.
Official journal: the official journal of the Society is Epidemiology. All members receive a one year online subscription to this bi-monthly journal for each year of membership at no additional cost. Members may opt to receive a printed journal for an additional cost. Thus, members receive the journal at substantially less cost than non-member subscribers. The journal facilitates communication of peer-reviewed science among practitioners in the field. The journal is owned by wolters kluwer health, inc. and is provided to Society members and identified as the societys official journal by written agreement between the Society and wolters kluwer. Epidemiology has been designated the official journal of the Society since 1994. The journal is peer reviewed and ranks among the top journals in the public, Environmental and occupational health category. Two free pages per issue are allotted cumulatively on an annual basis to isee for the purposes of its own publishing or posting announcements.
