Institute for Learning Innovation

Funding sources included grants from federal agencies, such as thenational science foundation and Institute for museum and libraryservices and contracts with nonprofit and government organizations,such as the Virginia air & space center and l.a. county museum of art.the focus of these projects included studying how children and adultslearn science outside of school; providing support for museums,community-based organizations, and other entities interested inmeasuring their societal impact; and convening educators andpolicymakers to explore the future of Learning and education in theunited states. Approximately 83% of staff time and organizationalresources were dedicated to these mission-driven project activities.remaining staff resources were spent on administration and fundraising.these projects exemplify and contribute to the Institute's exemptpurposes and mission. The Institute believes that these projects andfuture work are vital to ensuring that individuals, communities, andorganizations in the united states adapt and thrive in a rapidlychanging world.
