Privacy Fellowship - INF privacy fellows continued to shape the policy debate on an impressive range of issues within the privacy world, spanning a wide array of formats. The fellows wrote blogs, articles, and op-eds, appeared on panels, podcasts, and as talking heads on documentary films, and were quoted in form large and small. Even as Congress continued to struggle to advance comprehensive privacy legislation, the fellows worked incredibly hard to display their thought-leadership on a diverse set of issues spanning state, federal, and international levels, including: privacy labeling, privacy security hygiene, implications of state privacy laws, facial recog, algorithmic decision-making, deepfakes, just to name a few.
Competition/Anti-trust - supports and garners the academic scholarship of its expert fellows (i.e., law professors, economists, and industry leaders) who positively advance the public debate of antitrust/ competition policy in the digital market. Policymakers at all levels across the globe are focused on how competition policy interacts with or should interact with modern digital markets, characterized by the entry of large platform marketplaces of digital goods and services. Our fellows work to educate policymakers and legislators grappling with the wide range of sometimes conflicting policy objectives and concerns surrounding the curation of a healthy competitive online marketplace.
Frand/IP - Copyright Partners - INF ntellectual Property Fellows cont to shape policy debate on SEP law and policy around the globe via written pieces and speaking engagements. Fellows wrote blogs, articles and papers, appeared on panels at well-regarded IP events and were quoted in key publications. INF also played a pivotal role in supporting the small business community through its advocacy in Congress, federal agencies, and internationally on key copyright issues. INF maxamized opportunities to support strong copyright protections through targeted meetings with lawmakers and staff, filings with agencies in the United States, European Union (EU), and Canada.
