Innocence Project New Orleans aims to protect the innocent within the criminal justice system and was founded in 2001. Its mission is to free innocent, life-sentenced prisoners in Louisiana and South Mississippi, support clients after their release, and advocate for sensible criminal justice policies. In 2019, IPNO exonerated two innocent clients: Royal Clark after 17 years, four months, and 14 days; and Archie Williams after 36 years. The organization also freed Eric Prudholm who was wrongfully incarcerated for 37 years and Elvis Brooks.

Today, tyrone mitchell, larry hall, barney holt, cedric dent, sullivan walter, michael colton, cody flemming, jim howard, and raymond flanks are free following a collective 174 years incarcerated. In addition to the legal team winning their freedom, our team works with them through our robust 24/7 holistic re-entry program through our client services division.
