Community Involvement Activities (CI): Each of the 35 U.S. Branches allocates funds towards local volunteer activities that make a difference in member communities, referred to as Community Volunteer (CI) activities. In 2020, there were a total of 1,848 CI events across the U.S., receiving $979,707 in Branch funding, which engaged thousands of local members in volunteerism and community service. These activities all served a real need in local communities and / or supported charitable organizations such as local schools, shelters and children's hospitals. A few examples of Community Volunteer activities include: building and cleaning playgrounds, creating care kits for shelters, cooking meals at senior residences and running arts and crafts activities for families staying in children's hospitals. The impact of these activities extends beyond our members and exemplifies Foresters commitment to its purpose of serving local communities.
Legacy Activities (L) Legacy funding is provided to support activities that are important to the core group of active members in the former Branch system. These branches have historical roots within Foresters as the original branches of the fraternal organization. Legacy leaders have been granted a set amount of money from 2012 to 2015 to promote and engage in the Foresters purpose. In 2018 this program was reviewed and approved to continue at the same funding level as it was in previous years. In 2020, Foresters allocated $43,421 in funding to 35 Legacy branches. The 97 Legacy activities held across the US resulted in thousands of members engaged in the Foresters purpose.
Fun Family Activities (MI): Foresters also gives its members the opportunity to apply for funding through their local Branches to organize or participate in Fun Family activities with the goal of creating family time, which is another way Foresters contributes to building stronger families and communities. In 2020, 78 Fun Family (MI) activities were held across the US, providing families with the opportunity to spend quality time together at amusement parks, movies, zoos etc. Foresters allocated $344,840 in funding, which resulted in thousands of members engaged in Foresters purpose.
