Iris programs for the collection and distribution of data include:- a global seismographic network (gsn) of more than 150 permanent stations worldwide for observations of global earthquake activity,- a lending facility with more than 3,000 portable instruments (passcal) for temporary deployments in studies of earthquakes and earth structure,- data services (ds) which collects and archives all Iris data,- an education & public outreach (epo) program which develops resources and materials for educational Seismology, and- transportable and magnetotelluric arrays.

Other collaborative projects supporting seismological Research include: glisn, a real-time sensor array of 25 stations in greenland for monitoring glacial earthquakes.
