Program areas at Impact on Education

Mental health:we provide access to mental health support during the school day for over 13,000 bvsd students. This includes funding six high school wellness centers for the 23-24 school year staffed by mental health professionals and school-based Education events for parents/caregivers.
Crisis response (marshall fire): in december 2021, the marshall fire destroyed over 1,000 homes, disrupting the lives of hundreds of families in the school dostrict. We began responding to emerging needs related to the marshall fire in 2021 and have continued to provide more than 6,000 students with in-school mental health support. We also continued to support 300 displaced families with transportation stipends, after-school care, and school lunch.
Programs to improve student outcomes (kinder bridge, crayons to calcualtors, career readiness academy): our work supports bvsd students of all ages and stages of learning. In june 2023, 170 incoming kindergarten students accessed 4 weeks of summer instruction to ensure they began school as prepared as their peers. The crayons to calculators program provided new backpacks and school supplies to nearly 5,000 students in need in the boulder valley school district at the start of the school year. Our career readiness academy expanded to 3 sites allowing 60 high school students to access professional skills and career guidance from local professionals.
Other programs include providing scholarships to bvsd high school students in the district and recognition awards to bvsd teachers.
