Program areas at Impact Charitable
Impact Charitable continued to operate the left behind workers fund which provides emergency assistance in the form of direct cash payments to undocumented individuals across the state of Colorado, with the aim of improving financial security, accelerating recovery related to the impacts of covid-19, and creating a safety net for our neighbors left behind by our current social support systems.
Impact Charitable continued to innovate and expand our services within our integrated capital program in 2022. The organization facilitated 112 grants totaling $364,437 from donor advised funds. The organization executed $4.8mm in direct investments into innovative social ventures, nonprofits, and impact-first investment funds: 1) a colorado-based affordable housing investment fund; 2) a native american-owned and operated energy company converting communities from coal to renewable energy on tribal lands; 3) a nonprofit auto dealer and repair service supporting single moms with affordable and reliable transportation; 4) a business training, coaching and mentoring platform serving black women entrepreneurs; 5) a down payment assistance fund providing greater access to homeownership for black families in the denver metro area; 5) a food delivery company dedicated to creating a more just and sustainable food system in Colorado; 6) emerging beauty brands owned by women of color who are making the beauty industry more inclusive. Impact Charitable's investment portfolio represents its services to donor advised funds as well as program-related investments funded by local foundations.
Together with trusted nonprofit partners that specifically serve the unhoused population, Impact Charitable launched a guaranteed income project known as the denver basic income project to give basic income to individuals experiencing homelessness. The goal is to build a healthier society grounded in social justice and centered around improving human thriving.
Impact Charitable launched a guaranteed income project known as the thriving providers project to support informal childcare providers with the goal of improving financial security, increasing retention in the childcare workforce, and increasing the stability of care for families across the state of Colorado.
Impact Charitable launched and managed a friends and family investment fund focused on bipoc, women and veterans with the goal of building generational wealth within communities, ensuring entrepreneurs will be ready for venture and institutional funding. The organization made 1 investment totaling $200,000 and built a pipeline of additional businesses that could qualify for future funding.
Impact Charitable additionally worked to support broader direct cash and economic mobility programs, including leading a design process for a tenant equity vehicle to support renters in workforce and affordable housing to build equity, providing direct cash payments for low-income families in the denver metro area, and other initiatives to enable and support economic mobility.
