Our us portfolio continues to be committed to disrupting intergenerational inequity in historically marginalized communities by designing for a reality where every family has what they need to lead a full, prosperous, healthy life - where outcomes are not predictable by race, income, or zip code. We design solutions that center human dignity and generate evidence for what's possible in order to advance economic stability and mobility, so that families have access to a functional safety net, and are able to thrive.to do this we design new narratives with the power to propel movements and align communities & institutions around investing in new solutions, including maternal health, gender affirming and alternative approaches to ensuring safety and positive health outcomes. We offer the space, conditions, and platforms for people to work together in advancing new visions for change through new collaborative models, increasing access to power and influence, while affirming every child and family's identity - allowing families to shape their own path forward. To date, ideo.orIdeoorgrg has worked with a range of partners including the robert wood johnson foundation, bezos family foundation, child poverty action lab, center for disease control (cdc), the just trust, nj department of children and families, and many others.our latin america portfolio is committed to the same aims of the us portfolio - disrupting intergenerational inequity in historically marginalized communities by designing for a reality where every family has what they need to lead a full, prosperous, healthy life. In 2022, this portfolio was centered around our collaboration with the inter-american development bank, where we worked to support migrants in the region to access social services through a single-window service delivery model that was developed with iadb and implemented across several of their country counterparts. We also collaborated with producers direct on a project to help small-holder coffee farmers in peru (and uganda) predict their yields through a tech-based estimation tool.
Our east african portfolio comprises projects and programs in three key areas of focus. The first area of focus is health; specifically designing solutions for women's sexual reproductive health. In 2022 we had a particular focus and inclination to design for sexual reproductive health with adolescents and young girls through our colab model billion girls colab (bgc) and psi among other partners. The second portfolio of work is in the agricultural sector, with a targeted approach to designing for smallholder farmers, their livelihoods and climate resilience in the face of unpredictable climatic variations and climate change. Our final focus area is financial inclusion, where we have taken on research and design work that sought to address women's financial empowerment, financial literacy, building financial confidence, upskilling and livelihood development. The recent proliferation of technology and smartphones on the continent has led us towards developing digital financial service tools alongside financial service providers and mobile network operators (mnos) addressing the economic challenges in the region.in southeast asia, our work has continued to focus on digital financial services and upskilling of female garment workers in a deliberate effort to close the gender gap and allow women to scale the career ladder through promotions.
