Program areas at The Hyland Hills Junior Hockey Association

Youth Hockey association:hhha competitive Hockey program - hhha jaguars offers a competitive travel Hockey program for each age division. These age divisions are squirts (u-10) through midget major (u18). Anyone interested in participating on a competitive team should be fundamentally sound and know how to skate, pass, and shoot. Travel Hockey is designed for players who have The ability and desire to play at a challenging level of competition. There is a tryout process for all travel teams beginning in august for midget major, midget minor and bantam. Peewee tryouts will take place following labor day. Squirt tryouts are in late september following The league mandatory "skills & drills" period. Players are selected on skill and Hockey knowledge, with The best players being selected to The top team in each particular age group. Once placed on a team, players are expected to participate in all team functions. All of our travel teams typically practice 2 to 3 times a week with 1 to 2 games on weekends. All of hhha competitive travel teams play in The Colorado competitive youth Hockey league (ccyhl). The ccyhl consists of organizations along The front range from fort collins to Colorado springs. Every team can expect to play roughly 18 games depending on The number of teams fielded at each division.along with playing regular season games in The ccyhl, players can expect to participate in 2 to 4 tournaments, with 1 or 2 of those tournaments requiring travel out of The state. By agreeing to participate on a competitive travel team, players agree to attend all tournaments that The team chooses to participate in. Participation on a competitive travel team takes a great deal of commitment and dedication. Those families that plan on participating on a competitive travel team with The hhha can expect to be at a Hockey rink 4 to 5 times a week throughout The course of The Hockey season.recreational program - Hyland Hills Hockey Association is a founding member of The Colorado recreational Hockey league (crhl) originally also known as The "house or "recreational" league, it has grown to encompass The clubs within all The metro-denver area and is now called The "travel recreational program".this league is designed to provide a recreational level of play for ages squirt through midget. The crhl is a youth Hockey league that emphasizes skills development with a recreational component. Crhl offers an alternative to The highly competitive environment of travel Hockey. Families participating in The house program can expect to pay less, travel less often, and receive fewer ice touches. We field teams at every age from squirt (under 10) to midget (under 18).8 and under program - Hyland Hills Hockey Association offers premier 8u development program for The beginning Hockey player. Hhha follows The recommended usa Hockey adm (american development model) program. Under this model hhha offers three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Beginners will have ice twice on The weekends, intermediate will have ice 3 times a week and advanced will have ice 4 times.female Hockey program - The girls league is ideal for girls wanting to play with and against other girls. Ccyhl & crhl are available for girls wishing to play on co-ed teams. This program is for girls who turn 9 during this calendar year up to players who turn 19 this year.
