Program areas at Humane Society of Greater Dayton

Animal care and placement - operation of a facility to house and care for unwanted pets until they can be placed in the care of qualified persons - 2,125 animals were placed in 2022.
Cruelty & neglect investigations - protect all types of animals within montgomery county to create a community where all animals are valued and free from suffering - 521 cases of cruelty or neglect were investigated in 2022.
Operation of animal clinic - maintain facilities to neuter and spay animals and to treat sick animals that are brought to the Humane Society as well as care for animals through our full-service veterinary hospital - 7,308 animals were spayed or neutered in 2022 and 3,997 animals were examined or treated through our veterinary facilities in 2022.
Education - conduct programs to teach individuals the proper care of pets.
