Community Support for Athletes with Disabilities - The Houston Marathon Foundation is committed to making running accessible to athletes of all abilities for opportunities to participate in races and other physical activities.
United States Elite Athlete Development Support - The Houston Marathon Foundation supports local and national programs for elite athlete development.
Youth initiatives of the Houston Marathon Foundation provide grants for running-related programs and support initiatives, which include after-school running programs, We Run Houston, college scholarships for high school students, and health and wellness activities.
Families with children of all abilities are invited to participate in the Texas Children's Hospital and Houston Marathon Foundation Family Fun Run each year. The Fun Run is conducted to educate and encourage Houston-area children and their families to adopt active, healthy lifestyles. Over 5,000 individuals typically participate in these events annually.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Texas Children's Hospital and Houston Marathon Foundation Family Fun Run were canceled.
