Hospice of Palm Beach County, Inc. (hpbc) offers many programs and services designed to meet end of life care needs of our community. Individuals' needs involve physical, social, emotional, and spiritual care, as well as interpersonal relationships with family and close friends. Hospices care for the patient and family as a unit, and thus employ the skills and expertise of many disciplines. During the twelve month period ended december 31, 2023, hpbc admitted and served 8,107 patients. Hpbc provides care to patients who meet certain criteria under its charity care policy without charge at amounts less than its established rates. Because hpbc does not expect payment, charges are not included in the net patient service revenues. The cost of charity care provided during 2023 amounted to $612,141.
