Hope Haven of Hancock County

Forensic interviews - structured conversations in a safe environment between children that may have been abused or neglected and a trained professional interviewer in coordination with law enforcement and child protective services personnel. A single interview model is used so that the children do not have to be questioned repeatedly. The goal of the interviews is to aid in ensuring the safety of the individual child as well as other children in the community.

Helping hands - provides direct assistance to families experiencing hardship through counseling, monetary assistance, and referrals with the goal of keeping families together and children in a safe and healthy environment. Hope Haven works with several agencies to help children from being taken into custody of child services due solely to economic situations.

Family advocate - family advocates counsel children and families before and after forensic interviews to make sure they understand the process involved with the investigation and legal process. The family advocate also provides support, education and resources to the child and family to help overcome and cope with the trauma of abuse.
