Israel is at the heart of hillelswork. Our goal is to inspire every jewish college student to develop a meaningful andand to israelis. Hillel welcommes a diversity of student perspectiveson israel and strives to create an inclusive plurlistic community where students can discuss matters of interest and/or concern about israel and the jewish people in a civil manner.we encourage students inquiry as they explore their relationship with israel. We object to labeling,excluding or harassing any students for their beliefs and expressions thereof. As an indispensable partner to the University, Hillel seeks to facilitate civil discourse about israel in a safe and supportive environment that is fertile for dialoge and learning.
As a student organization, Hillel at fius purpose is to encourage students of all backgrounds to form deep, personal connections to jewish life, learning and israel, through exploration,leadership and a sense of belonging. Hillel professionals provide opportunities for students to have meaningful jewish experiences, which can range from participating in peer-facilitated jewish learning initiatives or inmersive travel experience such as alternative breaks, masa israel journey,onward israel and birthright,to developong relationships with jewish mentors and educators, among others.hillel also supports and faciitates student celebrations of shabbat and holidays on and off-campus. We provide opportunities for students to build lifelong connections-to their jewish life, to each other and to jewish communities worldwide.
Hillel at fiu is dedicated to building leadership and support. This year,we have expanded and enhanced our student leadership board. We have a board comprised of a president,vice president, secretary, socialmedia chair,jewish program chair,tzedek chair, partnership chair graduate chair, and freshman chair. The student board meets once a week to accomplish both execution of programing,planning of the semester leadership developmente. These students have become incredibly engaged and passionate in the work of Hillel and jewish student life at fiu.additionally, we have project/program-based committees for holocaust and genocide awareness week & israel week.the goal of these committees is to engage more students in leadership opportunities and encourage continued engagement and involvement.
