Program areas at Hillel Foundation of New Orleans

Tjl initiatives - tulane Jewish leaders (tjl) is our program platform for student leadership and programming. Students generate ideas for programs, and we support them in developing marketing, program design, and budget. These programs range from community service to social outings to holiday-themed activities and more.
Student engagement - our mission includes building community with students, developing their leadership, and encouraging curiosity. We do this through our tulane Jewish leaders program (tjl), celebrations for Jewish holidays and shabbat, and as a community space for all university students in the greater New Orleans area. In the fiscal year 2023-2024, over 5,000 students, alumni, friends, faculty, and parents (both Jewish and non-jewish) benefitted from programs that were held.
General programs - tulane Hillel executes numerous programs and initiatives that educate students with all facets of the state of israel. This includes trips like birthright, the onward israel internship program in tel aviv, and the tulane israel leadership trip that visits the region for 10 days each summer. We also have a variety of programming throughout the school year, ranging from israel fest to visiting speakers.
Other programs - shabbat, holidays, israel fellow, israel, freshmen engagement and portrait project.
