Program areas at Hiki Ola

Continued construction of outdoor learning center at ka'eaikahelelani halau property.
Secured the usda's racial equity and justice grant and provided workshops to community members, targeting the native Hawaiian and pacific islander communities. Helped educate these communities about farm bill programs to support their efforts of taking care of the land.
Native tree restoration.
Began planning around the development of a community-based agroforest to help community members understand the value and benefits of agroforestry. This includes designing a variety of possible agroforestry areas with various medicinal and edible native and canoe plants. Hiki Ola also worked with students, totaling almost 400 visits to kealakekua mountain reserve, providing a place and aina-based educational experience to primarily economically disadvantaged and underserved populations.
