Helping Equines Regain Dignity strives to save as many equines as possible by rescuing them from the slaughter pipeline, restoring their health, maximizing their potential through retraining, matching them with appropriate new owners, and creating awareness through education to prevent inhumane treatment. In 2022, HERD placed over 30 trained horses. Since its inception, HERD has saved or assisted in saving over 700 equines including horses, mules, and donkeys. Additionally, HERD has established a reputation for rescuing equines destined for slaughter.

Program areas at HERD

Herd rehabilitates, retrains and rehomes rescued Equines. Since inception, herd has saved or assisted in saving over 700 Equines. Herd saves horses, mules, and donkeys from dire circumstances and in many cases, rescues Equines destined for slaughter. Herd has established a network of reputable transporters, quarantine facilities, vets and finds good forever homes.
