In 2022, Help-Us help-u, Inc (huhu) wrote a grant and received funding for ending the hiv epidemic (ehe). The grant was in partnership with the Florida department of health - pinellas. The scope of work included conducting focus groups to identify best practice prevention activities for high priority populations in st. petersburg. Our outreach focused on high incidence zip codes: 33701, 33705, 33711, 33712 and 33713. We developed marketing collateral to recruit participants and content for collateral and communications channels. We conducted five focus groups, four in-person and one virtual consisting of participants in each zip code area and submitted an analysis report of our findings. Huhu created a new medical nutrition therapy (mnt) program that provided services to those living with hiv who are ryan white eligible. The services, provided by a registered dietitian, included: nutrition assessment and screening, dietary/nutritional evaluation, food and/or nutritional supplements and nutrition education and/or counseling. These services were made available to all clients and all entities that serve these clients including community-based organizations, physician offices, hospitals, and universities. Huhu also provided non-medical case management including eligibility services for clients to obtain services. Additionally, we continued services from our previous ehe grant (in 2021) to provide our community resource partners with prevention information including prep literature, condoms and hiv testing services.
