The marla ruzicka war victims fund is a funding source under the us department of state's bureau of democracy, human rights and labor. This fund supports the irada project in iraq. The irada project supports comprehensive, social services for victims of violence during iraq's recent wars, with a special emphasis on survivors of war-related human rights violations since 2003. Based in baghdad and basra, hai operates two service centers that provide social, legal, mental health, vocational and medical assistance. (continued on schedule o)
The safe return project, funded by usaid, is in some ways similar to the irada project. Safe returns provides comprehensive, holistic services to ethnic and religious minority communities targeted by the islamic state, including christians and yezidis in northwest iraq. This project provides mental health and psychosocial services, vocational assistance, legal assistance, and primary health care to persons who were displaced by the islamic state and who are attempting to return to their original communities. Mejorando el acceso a la salud: resiliencia, sanacon y proteccin colombia/improving access to health: resilience, healing and protection in colombia (mas resiliencia). The needs of colombian idps, returnees, victims of the armed conflict and host communities, particularly in hard to reach and underserved communities, are better met in response to ongoing displacements and conflict.
