To address the prenatal and infant care needs of all pregnant woman and children with emphasis on the uninsured, medicaid recipients and other indigent individuals by developing coordinated systems of maternal and child health care. Our goal is to reduce Florida's infant mortality and morbidity rates. This program has contributed to improvement in birth outcomes for indigent individuals and high risk pregnancies regardless of income.

Program areas at Healthy Start Coalition of Pasco

Healthy Start strives to reduce floridas infant mortality and morbidity rates and has contributed to improvements in birth outcomes, including a decline in mortality rates. Florida leads the southern states in low infant mortality rates. Healthy Start teaches mothers how to care for their children through the momcare program. This program also helps supply baby care items and directs mothers to other agencies for help.
