Program areas at Healthcare Access Maryland
Making all the children healthy (match) provides medical case management and health care coordination for all children connected with the baltimore city department of social services foster care system. Program staff ensure enrollment in Maryland's medical assistance insurance program and coordinate medical, behavioral health, and dental exams. The match team provides specialized care coordination for children with complex behavioral and physical health needs, and supports the health needs for pregnant and/or parenting youth in foster care.
The eligibility department assists consumers in baltimore city with applying for and renewing medicaid health coverage. The program serves families, pregnant and post-partum individuals, children, and newborns. This legacy program has been assisting consumers since 1997.
- the connector program provides free assistance with health coverage, education, eligibility and enrollment for Maryland residents. Trained navigators help consumers to learn about health plan options in the state's insurance marketplace, determine eligibility for financial assistance, and apply for coverage. Healthcare Access Maryland is a connector entity of the Maryland health benefit exchange serving residents in the central region (baltimore city, baltimore county, and anne arundel county) and the midwest region (howard, frederick, and carroll counties).
The other program services includes programs to further the organization's exempt purpose by connecting residents to public health care coverage and helps them navigate services effectively. The organization works with individuals, hospitals, policymakers, and social services organizations to strengthen Maryland's health care delivery system and make Maryland healthier. In addition, the organization develops and implements charitable, educational programs related to the Maryland children's health program (mchp) & the public health leadership program.
