Program areas at Health Access of California
General program: the general program is non-lobbying ad-hoc programmatic activity that supports the statewide Health care consumer advocacy coalition. The coalition brings together dozens of other member organizations representing seniors, people with disabilities, children, immigrants, communities of color, Health care professionals, people of faith, labor, women, low-income families, and communities throughout California to be a leading voice for Health care consumers in California.
State lobbying - Health Access represents Health consumers in the state legislature and works to develop Health policies. We sponsor and advance key bills so consumers can have confidence that care and coverage will be there when they need it. Lobbying includes advancing legislation on setting a standard for essential Health benefits and new insurance market rules, and streamlining enrollment and eligibility for coverage.
