Description
HARTT is a volunteer-based AZ nonprofit organization with a mission to humanely capture lost family pets, homeless dogs, and homeless cats who are severely injured. In 2022, HARTT adopted 147 animals into new homes, returned 30 found stray animals to their owners, transferred 385 humanely-trapped animals to partner animal rescue organizations, and trained 83 volunteers, animal control officers, and shelter staff through our humane animal rescue and trapping team program.

Program areas at Hartt

Responded to more than 2,500 help requests for lost family pets or at-risk strays, provided search consulting, on-ground searches, flyering and humane trapping services. Adopted 304 homeless pets into new, loving homes. Partnered with other local nonprofit animal welfare organizations to transfer 358 animals into partner rescues for adoption placement. Opened our Hartt shelter for public adoption days, materially increasing the publics exposure to Hartt and our available animals. Provided out-of-area lost pet search and humane capture to 30 Arizona cities outside of our service area, as well as 4 other states outside of Arizona.
