Program areas at Hands of Christ A Duluth Cooperative Ministry
In an effort to prevent homelessness in our community, the co-op distributed 141,120 in financial aid, an 87% increase in financial support over 2021. Assistance was provided to 253 families for rent/emergency lodging and 227 families for utility payments. We provide financial assistance to: the disabled, seniors 60+, and legal guardians of children in secondary school or younger. In 2022 we also provided gift cards to 1,143 families totaling 35,805 to help relieve the impact of rising inflation, and in particular, historic gas prices. All clients have access to A job board and one-on-one budgeting assistance, as well as other resources in the area.
The co-op strives to build strong families one child at A time. In 2022, the co-op provided 205 bookbags, 267 holiday meals, christmas gifts to 407 in need, 158 easter baskets, and transportation to the co-op for 138 families.
