Guardian Ad Litem Foundation raises the funds necessary to recruit, train and retrain Volunteer Advocates who represent abused and neglected children in court, their schools and the child welfare system, and to provide necessary items for these children. Ensuring that every abused, neglected and abandoned child in five SW Florida counties has a guardian ad litem volunteer, and that financial assistance and other resources are available for childrens health, education and social needs.

Program areas at Guardian Ad Litem Foundation-20th Judicial Circuit

Supporting Floridas 20th Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Foundation in the five counties of SW Florida. The Guardian Ad Litem Foundation supports volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected and abandoned children in court, the child welfare system, and the community. The Foundation provides a variety of programs to assist these children, which includes childrens special needs, access to the arts, emergency clothing, happier birthdays, beds for kidz, tutoring and gymnastics.
Back to School with the Blue provides Lee County foster children represented by a Guardian ad Litem Foundation Volunteer Advocate with a new backpack full of school supplies and a $100 Old Navy gift card to use for shopping for back to school clothing. We partner with the Lee County Sheriffs Office to help with the distribution and provide a positive law enforcement interaction for the children participating. This program is entirely funded by the Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation. Our newest program is under our Childrens Needs umbrella, but a larger offering taking up approximately $20,000 in funding.
