Grow Dat Youth Farm

Core Leadership Program - 48 young adults participated in our Core Leadership Program. Over a 51/2 months long period, they practiced sustainable agriculture, developed community leadership skills, learned about local and regional food systems, and increased food access for local residents and organizations. Working together with staff and volunteers, they grew and harvested over 50,000 pounds of fresh produce for local consumption.

Seed Project -Focuses on preparing alumni of the Leadership Program to become change agents in their communities by inviting them to envision, research, and execute a project of their choosing. Working in small groups, youth learn valuable collaborative skills as they bring their vision to life.

Advanced Leadership Program - 12 young adults participated in our Advanced Leadership Program as Crew Leaders and Assistance Crew Leaders. Over a 10-month period, they deepened their facilitation skills and knowledge of sustainable agriculture, community leadership, and food systems. They also successfully guided crew members in our Core Leadership Program through their processes of leadership development on the farm.
