The Corporation (gscdc) operates as a "Certified Development Corporation" authorized by the us small business administration to administer the sba-504 program. The program is to promote economic Development throughout the state of California, with its primary emphasis on assisting small businesses to grow and create jobs. The program is designed to provide financing to small businesses, with a heavy emphasis on businesses located in depressed and/or rural communities and/or businesses owned by women, minorities, veterans, and/or individuals that are disabled.
