Economic Development leadership and collaboration - Greater Oshkosh edc was established in 2015 and exists to preserve the health of existing companies, foster a positive entrepreneurial environment, connect companies to workforce and talent Development resources, enhance the business climate and promote the quality of life in Greater Oshkosh area.
Workforce Development Greater Oshkosh edc continues to work on efforts to connect employees to workforce Development resources in the region and collaborate on training the skills needed by local businesses. We partner with uw Oshkosh, fox valley technical college, department of workforce Development, and the fox valley workforce Development board. Greater Oshkosh edc has a seat on the fvtc Oshkosh advisory committee and the Oshkosh area school district advisory committee
Targeted industry Development - the dominant industry in the Greater Oshkosh region is manufacturing, with nearly 1 out of every 4 persons employed in a manufacturing-related occupation. Greater Oshkosh will concentrate on facilitating opportunities in this sector, as well as aviation and information technology, two other targeted sectors identified by our community and organization.
Entrepreneurial Development - Greater Oshkosh edc is focused on developing a pipeline of early stage companies in our region as well as enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Tools & resources - provide the tools and resources to ensure that the Greater Oshkosh area is prepared to address Economic Development opportunites: administered covenants for the area industrial parks. Administered the emergency response loan fund and rapid recovery loan fund as a result of the pandemic to keep businesses financially solvent while complying with the enforced restrictions.
