Gorail educates community leaders and the public about the benefits of moving freight by rail and asks them to make clear to members of congress that rail policy decisions made in Washington, d.c. have real impacts in local communities. Twenty years in, Gorail continues to have great success conveying its message about the public benefits of freight rail. To advance its mission in 2022, Gorail expanded its network of local officials and community leaders across 34 states, educated coalition partners about freight rail policy issues, and leveraged these relationships to generate a steady stream of constituent inputs, publications in local media, and social media interactions with key congressional offices and executive branch officials.
