Program areas at Goodwill Industries of the Gulf Coast
Children and family support services: provided intensive early education and support services to 992 young children through inclusive childcare centers, part c early intervention services, special education preschool services, and early head start. Additionally, 685 parents and caregivers of children with disabilities were provided training, respite and opportunities for community enrichment. Provided about $55,000 in vouchers for families in crisis to purchase clothing and household goods.coordinated in-home caregiver support and respite for 124 active military and veteran families with a family member with a disability.provided durable medical equipment to over 6,000 people at no cost to the recipient through the equipment loan program. Provided safe, affordable, high-quality year round day program to 63 adults with moderate disabilities.
Employment services and retail program:provided job assistance services to 2,647 people and successfully placed 486 in employment including persons dealing with a disability, low education, lack of job skills, or other barriers to finding and keeping a job. Provided paid work training to 153 people within these target groups.provided career pathway training programs in which 488 people earned certifications in forklift operation, child development, computer skills, work keys, manufacturing, and other work skills.
Educational services:provided free ged instruction to 869 adults and administered the ged exam to 186 individuals.
