Goodwill provides a wide range of employment opportunities to people with disabilities and barriers to employment. Goodwill operates 40 retail sites and 28 collection sites, which create an employment platform for job training and a funding stream for community-based workforce development services. Workforce development services include the operation of jobs+, an integrated service delivery model that includes employment and financial capability services. Jobs+ is also the creator and home of the career & life matrix, an assessment and discovery tool used by multiple organizations to assess jobs seekers holistic needs and provide financial, employment, support, and wellness resources for customized goal planning.
Goodwill seeks to fulfill community needs in times of emergency circumstances including natural disaster response and ongoing relief. Through its donated goods platform, Goodwill collects and distributes nonperishable food to food banks, issues in-store vouchers for individuals in need of clothing and household goods and deploys donated product for community-based events and organized relief efforts.
Goodwill provides comprehensive workforce development programming for adults and youth with disabilities through a suite of employment preparation, job placements, job retention, and career advancement services. These programs are uniquely characterized by pre- enrollment barrier elimination, customized goal planning, demand-driven job seeking strategies, and person-centered design. The goal of these programs is to place people who are historically excluded from participation in the workforce in community-based, integrated, competitive employment.
