Program areas at Goodwill Industries of Central Florida
The donated goods retail (dgr) of Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (gicf) provides an avenue for the sale of recycled goods, extending the life of clothing and household items. Additionally, dgr is a training ground for sustainable employment and career growth in targeted communities through highquality employment practices. Funds generated through dgr drive the mission of "building lives that work" by increasing our capacity to hire, supporting the financial and career goals of all employees, and sponsoring the employment of persons with workplace challenges (behavior disorders, physical/mental disabilities, reentering citizens, and those chronically underemployed or unemployed). Success of the mission in 2022 is demonstrated through the addition of 297 jobs, raising base pay from $12.50 to $14.50, participation in prosperity planning (financial and career asset development) by 170 employees, and increasing donor value by 11%.
We complement the mission expressed through donated goods retail (dgr) through communitybased services for employment navigation, financial capacity building, career navigation, education and training attainment, and personal crisis referrals. Success of this mission expression is evident through 231 jobs secured, 32 participants in prosperity planning (financial and career asset development), and 2,285 total persons served in 2022.
