Kingdom Causes Bellflower's (kcb) homeless care & housing stability program supports individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness on their journey off the streets. This program provides homeless outreach, case management, financial assistance, housing navigation assistance, transportation to appointments (i.e. Housing, medical, dmv), and referrals to partner agencies. Kcb provides housing services to the homeless neighbors in artesia, Bellflower, cerritos, compton, downey, lynwood, norwalk, and paramount. In 2023, 36 people who were homeless were permanently housed and 75 people prevented from becoming.
In 2023, 588 homeless neighbors received supportive services. These individuals come into our community center which is open every day to receive support in one way or another. Some of the services that we offer are as follows: id vouchers, tap cards, utility assistance, hygiene kits, community resource lists, phone & comp use, food & drinks, receive mail, group bible studies, support groups, life skill classes & community listening sessions.
Good Soil Industries (gsi) is a landscape social enterprise program of Kingdom Causes Bellflower (kcb) with a mission to help hard-to-hire neighbors work their way out of poverty. The program provides transitional jobs for men and women experiencing homelessness or housing instability, justice system involvement, and other employment barriers. Today, the program services over 125 commercial and residential properties. In 2023, gsi provided workforce development training, mentoring, life skills development opportunities, and the dignity of earning a paycheck for 21 low-income neighbors in the community. Since its inception, gsi has provided on-the-job training for over 250 local residents. In 2023, 30 jobs created for individuals with work barriers.
