Program areas at Golden Triangle
Ambassador - the Golden Triangle ambassadors clean the neighborhood's public spaces, parks, and street amenities. The ambassadors create a sense of safety and keep the neighborhood streets clean and Golden.
Public space improvements - in recent years, the bid has planted and maintained a raised median along Connecticut avenue, installed nineteen rain gardens, installed several pieces of public art, and transformed murrow and monroe parks with renovated lighting and a light art project in the restored fountain.
Community activities & recovery efforts - the bid works to provide various public services to the constituents of the bid, including indoor and outdoor events, emergency preparedness initiatives, and other programs. The bid also helps local, regional, and national retail businesses find the perfect downtown location. As the impact of covid 19 continues to be felt throughout the city, the bid continues to devote significant resources to recovery efforts, including working with the dc government and wdcep to help attract office and retail tenants to the neighborhood, and creating outdoor spaces, events, and activations to encourage workers to return to their offices.
Safety, continuity & homeless outreach - the bid works in partnership with local social service providers to help transition homeless individuals into housing and to provide necessary services.
Marketing and communication - the bid works to convey a public image of the District of columbia as a safe, clean, attractive, and world-class destination for businesses, as well as for government institutions and tourism. The goal is to communicate the diversity and vitality of the Golden Triangle bid area, attract tenants, encourage a return to office and to support businesses.
Innovation District - the bid works with george Washington university, Washington d.c. government, Washington d.c. economic partnership ("wdcep"), and other partners to create an innovation District within the Golden Triangle boundaries. The innovation District is built off the existing presence of three key tech sectors in medtech, govtech, and edtech while focusing on the broader themes of equity, social innovation and digital engagement.
