Oakland Accomplishments- Engaged more than 600 community members to take action in support of our work to improve Oaklands public education system in one-on-one meetings, events, and other opportunities. This base of supporters allows us to make a significant impact on system-level policy decisions in Oakland Unified School District.- Succeeded in advocating for Oakland Unified to centrally share student data reports with all parents via ParentSquare. Subsequently released the Gaining Ground Report, which highlighted OUSD schools that were catching students Up quickly amidst a citywide literacy crisis
Fresno Accomplishments- Engaged more than 300 community members in one-on-one meetings, events, and other opportunities. This base allows us to make a significant impact on system-level policy decisions in Fresno Unified School District (FUSD).- GO Fresno's Dual Enrollment Action Team, and leaders from Fresno Unified and Fresno City College co-created a joint resolution committing to the equitable expansion of dual enrollment course offerings. The resolution was passed unanimously by the Fresno Unified Board of Trustees in December 2021.
West Contra Costa Accomplishments- Engaged more than 800 community members in one-on-one meetings, events, board actions, and other opportunities. This base of supporters allows us to make a significant impact on system-level policy decisions in West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD).- Piloted a new program, the community-led committee. The first committee, focused on school re-opening, worked in partnership with West Contra Costa Unified staff to curate a series of recorded and live trainings to help families navigate district communications applications. This committee worked with the district to design COVID vaccination verification outreach tools and offered 1:1 support sessions at the annual West Contra Costa Education Fair.
