As of june 30, 2018, Global Partnerships (gp) had more than $97 million invested in 72 microfinance institutions, social businesses and cooperatives in 20 countries in latin america, the caribbean and sub-saharan africa. Gp invests in social enterprises with sustainable solutions that help impoverished people increase their incomes and improve their lives, with investments in social enterprises in the following areas: microfinance, livelihoods, education, health, affordable solar light, sanitation, smallholder farmer market access, home improvement, smallholder farmer inputs, essential medicines, digital study materials, cookstoves, and artisan market access. The vast majority (more than 80%) of the funds invested by Global Partnerships are invested with micro-finance institutions.
