Program areas at Global Impact Investing Network
Membership: the giin membership Network provides a platform for a diverse, Global community of more than 440 like-minded investors and key stakeholders to deepen engagement with Impact Investing by connecting with peers and sharing experiences and lessons learned. Giin members include asset owners, asset managers, and service providers that are active in developed and emerging markets and target a range of issue areas or Impact themes.
Research and Impact lab: with a focus on bringing critical market intelligence and practice insights to the market, the giin produces influential and high-impact research that helps build a stronger evidence base for Impact Investing, reduce opacity in the market, improve investor decision-making, and advance the practice of Impact Investing. To date, the giin has produced over 64 cutting edge reports distributed as public goods, including the flagship annual Impact investor survey that serves as the go-to 'state of the market' report. Additionally, the giin mpact lab engages in research and development of Impact intelligence tools to help Impact nvestors make sense of their Impact performance outcomes.
Giin Impact forum: the giin Impact forum is an annual gathering of Impact investors, with a reputation for offering engaging content and bringing together a diverse audience of Impact investors from around the world. In 2022, the forum was held in the netherlands and welcomed over 1,500 delegates.
Iris & Impact measurement and management: the giin works to enable sound practice in Impact measurement and management by managing iris +, a catalog of generally accepted performance metrics that leading Impact investors can use to measure social, environmental, and financial success. The giin also develops resources for Impact investors seeking to build or strengthen their Impact measurement strategy.
Communications & marketing: the communications team at the giin is responsible for managing the brand of the organization, external communication, and the dissemination of giin reports and tools. This includes developing annual communications strategies, media relations, digital strategy and channels including the giin website and the creation and execution of thought leadership campaigns.
Capital mobilization: the giin's capital mobilization program aims to inspire asset owners to integrate Impact Investing into their portfolio in a systematic manner. To do this, the program builds the case for Impact Investing and develops knowledge resources (e.g., guides, briefs, etc.) To help investors learn how to develop an integrated approach to Impact Investing. The program engages asset owners, globally, providing resources and educational opportunities.
Training and accreditation: the giin's training and accreditation program team is responsible for creating a Global skill accreditation program that drives professional Impact investment practice excellence.
Impact principles: launched in 2019, the Impact principles secretariat offers a framework for the design and implementation of Impact management systems, ensuring that Impact considerations are integrated throughout the investment lifecycle (the Impact principles). In 2022, the giin became the host of the Impact principles secretariat.
