Gibson County Farm Bureau develops, fosters, promotes, and protects programs for the general welfare of farm people. The organizational leadership structure provides opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues affecting agriculture through agriculture leadership activities. Through volunteer leaders, the Gibson County Farm Bureau supports public policy efforts at the local, state, and national levels to protect and promote the agriculture industry through public policy programs.

Program areas at Gibson County Farm Bureau

Public policy programs in order to protect & promote the agriculture industry the Gibson co Farm Bureau through its structure of volunteer leaders supports public policy efforts at the local, state & national level. This is accomplished through both legislative & regulatory monitoring communications with members & public awareness programs about farming & rural life & provide information about the agriculture industry. Volunteer board members participate in the sponsorship of meet the candidate activities & yearly policy meetings with their legislators to educate them about ag policy & how the industry is impacted by lawmakers.
Youth leadership development the Gibson County Farm Bureau supports youth agriculture organizations both financially and with volunteer hours. The organization is a primary sponsor of the Gibson County 4-h and ffa. Gibson County sponsors and sends 2 students a year to the 4-h congress and also makes a donation to the County ffa banquet. The Gibson County Farm Bureau supports a field day for elementary school children at a local Farm to show the children the importance of agriculture in everyday life.
Agriculture leadership activities the Gibson County Farm Bureau structure of organizational leadership provides many opportunities for member leaders to keep abreast of issues that affect agriculture. Local board members attend organizational & educational meetings each month. They participate in other local agricultural, civic, & community organizations. Leaders attend district, state & national conferences to network with farmers & other agriculturalists to learn about current issues facing agriculture. A highly developed committee structure provides leadership opportunities for members through meetings, regular communications, and agricultural activities.
