Georgia Music Foundation

In fiscal year 23, the Georgia Music Foundation was able to award nearly 230,000 in grant funding to 56 Music programs at k-12 schools and non- profit organizations to purchase and repair instruments, support middle and high school band programs, fund Music instructors, provide orff training to teachers, fund scholarships for summer Music camp and more. In addition, the Foundation engaged in outreach partnerships with mrs. g's Foundation in savannah to host a regional Music teacher's appreciation lunch and learn; with Georgia humanities to support the production and premiere of a Georgia blues documentary; with athens visual artist jackie dorsey to support the exhibition, legendary Georgia musicians in watercolor,; and with new west records to distribute the single, "walkin' back to Georgia," a 50-year-old jim croce composition recorded, produced and donated by musicians butch walker, elizabeth cook and katie pruitt to support the Foundation and foster awareness of the importance of Music education and the impact it has had on the lives of artists like those three.
